Wool and Cashmere
Always hand-wash or use a gentle machine cycle with cold water and specialist wool detergent. Never wring — press out excess water and lay flat to dry. Store folded, never hung, to prevent stretching.
Silk
Silk is delicate but not impossible to care for at home. Hand-wash in cold water with a gentle detergent, or dry clean for peace of mind. Iron on a low setting while slightly damp, or use a steamer.
Linen
Linen gets better with age and washing. Machine wash on a gentle cycle and air dry — linen dries quickly and the natural creases are part of its charm. Iron while damp for a crisper finish if preferred.
Denim
Wash denim as infrequently as possible to preserve colour and shape. Turn inside out, use cold water, and avoid the tumble dryer. Spot clean between washes where possible.
